FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Emmy Award winners "The Texas Tenors" coming to Jackson 2-2-19

Featuring America’s favorite tenors on stage with full orchestra

Jackson, Mississippi, January 28, 2019—On Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30pm, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will present the second concert of its popular Pops Series, Pops II: The Texas Tenors. These three friends with a dream bring big talent, successfully straddling opera, country, Broadway, pop and gospel. Dance and sing along to hits by John Denver, Bruno Mars, The Righteous Brothers, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and many more!

MSO and St. Dominic’s are proud to present three lone star dudes who pack Texas charm and a songbook to boot. Since their whirlwind debut on “America’s Got Talent” eight years ago, The Texas Tenors have accumulated a long list of awards, accolades, and an enthusiastic fan base, including three Emmy awards for their PBS special “You Should Dream”. Performing more than 1,000 concerts around the world, including a 24-city tour of the U.K. and China, and collaborating with some of the most prestigious symphonies in the U.S., they were recently named the #10 Classical Artists in the world by Billboard magazine. The Texas Tenors new album RISE was released on Sept. 8th, showcasing the wide-ranging talent of JC Fisher, Marcus Collins, and John Hagen. They will appear on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” Monday evening, Jan. 28th on NBC starting at 7:00pm.

From John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” to “E lucevan le stele” from Puccini’s “Tosca”, these three pour their heart and soul into favorites such as “Desperado”, Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”, and a stirring rendition of “God Bless America”. Other songs included in their repertoire are: “Amazing Grace”, “Mountain Music”, “Writings On The Wall”, “Just The Way You Are”, “My Way”, “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”, among others!

The MSO Pops Series presents three concerts per year, with Pops I and II at Thalia Mara Hall, and Pops III “Pepsi Pops” at the Reservoir. Tickets for Pops II: The Texas Tenors are $21 & up for adults and $5 for children/students, when accompanied by a paying adult.
