For Immediate Release: MSO Presents a Dynamic Night of Piano Brilliance in Best and Brightest

Jackson, Mississippi, February 11, 2020—On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at 7:30pm, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will present the fourth concert of its Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo Series, Best and Brightest, generously sponsored by Baker Donelson, with additional support by Jeannette G. Walker. Full orchestra in a grand setting with guest pianist Anton Nel performing Beethoven and Dvořák, promising to deliver a magnificent night of piano brilliance.

Beethoven’s 5th Piano Concerto, revolutionary in its day and popularly known as “The Emperor”, is a virtuoso showcase for internationally-renowned pianist and Beethoven interpreter, Anton Nel. Dvořák’s inviting 8th Symphony ends the concert on a sparkling bright note. Anton Nel will hold a masterclass for piano students on Thursday, February 20th, 3pm at Millsaps College. Event will be free and open to the public.

The MSO Bravo Series presents five concerts per year, all at Thalia Mara Hall. Tickets for Bravo IV: Best and Brightest are $27 & up for adults and $5 for children (ages 4-18) / students. Advance tickets may be purchased online here, by calling (601) 960-1565, or by visiting the MSO office at 201 E. Pascagoula Street (located inside the Arts Building) between 9:30am and 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Tickets will also be available at the Thalia Mara Hall box office by 6:30pm on the evening of the concert. Don’t forget the FREE pre-concert lecture by Dr. Timothy Coker at 6:45pm on the mezzanine level. Cash bar will be available.
