FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MSO Welcomes International Rising Violin Star, Tai Murray

Bravo IV - String Sensation Concert

News you can use! For Immediate Release: Tai Murray joins MSO for String Sensation.

Jackson, Mississippi, February 7, 2019 – On Saturday, February 16th at 7:30 pm, the MSO will present the fourth concert of its Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo Series, String Sensation at Thalia Mara Hall, sponsored by Baker Donelson and NewSouth Neurospine, with Tai Murray’s appearance made possible by a generous gift from Tom and Connie Kossen. The concert will feature some of the world’s finest music by Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann, two giants who were best friends.

The performance will open with Schumann’s famous “Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120”. The second half of the performance focuses on Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77. The New York Times calls Murray “superb”, and, “Technically flawless…vivacious and scintillating…” by Muso Magazine. A former BBC young generation artist, Murray has been heard with orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Her critically-acclaimed debut recording for harmonia mundi of Ysaye’s six sonatas for violin was released in February 2012.
