FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Soprano Acclaimed for Performances of Strauss and Mahler to Join MSO

Erin Wall hits all the right notes in this blockbuster evening of Vienna’s best.



Jackson, Mississippi, December 11, 2019—On Saturday, January 11th, 2020 at 7:30pm, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra will present the third concert of its Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo Series, A Night in Vienna, generously sponsored by J. Keith Robbins, III, MD. Thrill to guest vocalist and Grammy award-winning recording artist Erin Wall who brings a new dimension and heavenly voice to this classical concert, from the appeal of Strauss’ “Four Last Songs”, to the lure of Mahler’s 4th Symphony.


Internationally-renowned soprano Erin Wall, whose versatility shines through her extensive repertoire spanning three centuries, will knock your socks off! Noted for her leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, along with other prominent opera houses, symphonies and conductors nationwide, Wall joins MSO for the first concert of the New Year. Gramophone Magazine describes Wall’s interpretation of the “Four Last Songs” as, ‘…….beautifully modulated, sensitively and sensuously soaring.’


The MSO Bravo Series presents five concerts per year, all at Thalia Mara Hall. Tickets for Bravo III: A Night in Vienna are $27 & up for adults and $5 for children (ages 4-18) / students. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.msorchestra.com, by calling (601) 960-1565, or by visiting the MSO office at 201 E. Pascagoula Street (located inside the Arts Building) between 9:30am and 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Tickets will also be available at the Thalia Mara box office by 6:30pm on the evening of the concert. Don’t forget the FREE pre-concert lecture by Craig Young, Mississippi College Professor of Music at 6:45pm on the mezzanine level. Cash bar will be available.
