MSO's JPS Education Concerts Are a Hit Once Again!

MSO’s 2018-19 Young People’s Concerts were highly successful once again this year! Concerts were for Jackson Public School students’ grades 4-5, held at Thalia Mara Hall on September 11th & 14th, 9:30 & 11:00. These annual concerts organized by MSO & JPS, are interactive programs with the students, and are designed and conducted by Maestro Crafton Beck. This year’s theme was “Weird Science”, allowing students to not only learn about each instrument in the orchestra & the sounds produced, but also the different sounds familiar in an orchestra. These concerts are just a small part of MSO’s educational engagement, which strives to provide hands-on music education benefits to JPS students. This year, around 3,500 students attended the educational concerts.
