Soul-warming, all-Mozart evening

“Mozart by Candlelight” moves to Thalia Mara Hall for the first time, losing none of its cozy charm (but gaining some elbow room in these crazy times).

The March 27 Chamber concert flickers with the incandescent warmth of the beloved master’s music, while candles call to mind the Classical era.

Several of Mozart’s best-known strings-alone works take the stage for this popular performance, including Serenata Notturna, which will ring pleasantly familiar in the ear of even the most casual classical music listener. The program balances Mozart’s bold and expressive Adagio and Fugue with his delightful Musical Parody, a work brimming with humor (much of it musically subtle, but with a couple of outright satirical jabs).

Plus, could there possibly be a better way to greet the coming of spring than with all the infectious optimism of Mozart’s mega-famous Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music)?

Enjoy it live, and set yourself and the months ahead on the absolute right track.
